Some news about Pierre Mangeslip, whose adventures stalled 5 months ago. Firstly, the boy now has his very own url : www.mangeslip.com. Secondly, I took the weird decision to entirely redraw his adventures in a completely different style. Thirdly, there will be an english version.

On plante 16 graines, on en fait pousser 8, puis 4, puis 2, puis enfin une. Ici, il manque encore deux dessins pour terminer la pousse.
One plants 16 seeds, makes 8 grow, then 4, then 2, then finally one. Here, two drawings are missing to complete the growth.
Robots are fun to draw.

I’m back from Japan, and there I found the almighty Excalibur pen : the Pilot DR 005.
Extra thin line, pigment ink that will neither fade nor wash away, souple yet resistant lead, not too dry… It is perfect. And it shall be mine.
I should have bought loads of it in Japan, but at this time I hadn’t yet realised how it shone with almost unbearable perfection and beauty. Let’s hope I’ll find it in France.
I tried to let the line grow, and grow, just the way it wanted to.

I bought myself a new laptop with decent autonomy, so now I can paint absolutely everywhere.
Here is my bedroom. It’s not very far yet, but I’ll explore new horizons very soon.

Done for conceptart.org “industrial design of the week” challenge. I used 3D as a basis for this one, and learned Maya basics in the process, which is an amazing software.
It is not finished, but I guess it’ll stay as it is.

An old one from april :

I bought a black pad, this is my first try.

Just a quick random faun… He looks more like a devil with this red skin.

As an opening for my illustrated dream journal :

I think there’s a blurry feeling when I scan my lines with my very cheap scanner… Crap.
…just draw your worries on paper.

I’ve started the storyboard of the fragile army animation I want to make. Here it is :

And a first drawing of the environment :

A really quick one

That’s what I dreamt some days ago. The fish was swimming on the pavement, then it turned to a kind of porcupine, then to a dinosaur, then to a rather threatening yeti.

I was not so successful with these legs. Here are a bunch, anyways.

Ears are quite a pain to draw.

I want to do some illustrations on the subject “follow me”.

I got myself an old laptop, from now on no excuses for me not to paint from life.

Drawing robots this morning.

Here are some scraps, done for conceptart.org DEEP challenge.

as Zappa said :
FREE IS WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY FOR NOTHING OR DO NOTHING WE WANT TO BE FREE
FREE AS THE WIND
That’s it, I’m a freelance. Web for sure, and illustration as well. That’s my goal…

I did this self portrait for the subject “worry” from Illustration Friday. But here I don’t look worried, I look dumb…
I should do that more often. Boy how I need practice !

Random doodles…

Electricity

So at the end of the month, I’ll be a web freelance. Thus, I have basically no time for drawing apart from bus and train. So as a start, here are some scraps from my daily scrapbook.
